It is the first generation Xbox One controller released, but has since been discontinued. While this controller is commonly used with the Xbox One, it can also be used for PC gaming. Hi Guys. My RT was feeling weird for a few months, I noticed it wasn't going all the way through sometimes but I was shaking the controller and it was okay usually. But now both of the triggers just don't respond even when I test it with windows and not in-game.

I opened up the controller and found out that on of the screws was loose and attached to the magnet on the RT no idea how did that happend so that explained why the RT wasn't going all the way through, but everything else looked fine and I fixed that problem with that screw and it seemed like everything is fine, the cables looked right, the magnets were okay and nothing seemed to be broken but they just won't respond I was thinking maybe it's a software issue so I reinstalled the drivers and that didn't work too.

Eido, I believe nick can help with this one. Nick nick. The controller is probably not going to be easy to repair. I have had two of these 's that I got as a pair with different issues bad LB and analog stick driftso I combined these broken controllers into one. The analog stick issue ended up happening again on my second controller, so I ended up getting rid of it and looking for a newer controller. I don't recommend repairing this controller, since the controllers seem to have a high enough failure rate that issues with these controllers are common.

This non-recommendation is because this specific controller is known for high failure rates of the analog sticks this issue is known to cause analog stick driftwhich becomes more of a problem as the controller ages.

I even had to recover the firmware on one and did an exchange for the I use now, and it shows the same signs that always come up when they begin to fail. I would recommend trying to find a controller if you are looking at used ones, but if you want a new one you will need to get the Model controller.

With that being said, this is either an issue with the bottom motherboard or the controller frame. If you really want to repair this controller, I'd order both parts and not solder anything until you see the LT trigger works again.

If you replace the frame and it still happens, the bottom motherboard is bad. This exact issue has also happened on myand it was a frame problem for me. Actually I have which I broke after a month!!! Fix Your Stuff.

I 84 accident oregon today

Fruitydeath View Profile View Posts. Hey guys, So I feel like I've ran my head up into a wall. For some reason and it's only in this game I cannot shoot my gun with the right trigger of my Xbox One Controller every other part of the controller works however, buttons, left trigger and the bumpers.

However the controller works with the right trigger with other games Doom, Sleeping Dogs, Wolfenstien. I've tried unistalling then reinstalling the Xbox One Wireless USB, tried updating the drivers, restarting my computer several times, unistalled an old xbox app that people claimed may have been interfering. Have any of you encountered this error before, is there any possible solution to it or am I stuck having to use a keyboard and mouse for this game?

Showing 1 - 7 of 7 comments. This exact problem just happened to my game. Did you find a solution? My right-trigger is working, but the game doesn't recognize it anymore. Sam View Profile View Posts. Don't have a clue what is causing this but verifying the integrity of your game's files might work. You might be missing files.

I just upgraded to windows 10, but RotTR was running fine afterward. Then it stopped working today. Validation completed successfully so I'll try reinstalling the game and report back.

A reinstall of the game did not fix the problem. Starting a new game had no effect. Since there isn't anything wrong with the controller drivers, there seems to be no possible solution.

Guess I'll just have to play with keyboard and mouse from now on. If so, turn it OFF. The issue went away for me and I can now use my controller again. Unfortunately, I don't know what caused the issue to resolve itself since I tried a game reinstall, driver reinstall, and windows reinstall on a new hard drive. Now I can play on two different Windows 10 hard drives. Last edited by ChrisKrieg ; 15 Mar, pm.

I'm pretty sure that it was a Steam problem. This controller is the current mainstream controller sold by Microsoft. Jacob blackbear7. So the problem that I am having with my controller is this. Only when I press it very firmly is the signal then conveyed to the Xbox. In comparison, by pressing down the left bumper on either of the very edges as well as the middle the signal is properly conveyed as it should be with just the normal amount of pressure required to depress the bumper.

If I had to estimate I would say that it requires roughly 3 times the pressing force to activate the signal from the right bumper in comparison to the left. At this point I am past my warranty and have already decided to take the controller apart to see if I could locate the problem myself. The levers themelves leading to the tactile switches look to be identical on either side leading me to believe that they are not responsible for the issue.

My question then becomes what is the likliehood that it is the tactile switch itself that is the problem? Is there a possibility it is anything else that could be the culprit? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! I had this problem too on the The single piece of plastic that makes up the bumper was fully intact. I did rub the sensor quite a bit with rubbing alcohol on a q-tip, press the bumper a bunch, and let it dry for a couple days WITHOUT the battery attached.

April 5 by Jim Thomson. April 22 by heribertolagaresjr. Same i dont know how to take it apart or fix this and i mostly play gta which is heavily reliant on rb. I thought microsoft would fix the bumpers on the elite series 2 but they dont seem to care.

May 6 by Skixz. Yes it is very annoying as I too play gta. I may take it to a repair shop near me soon when it re-opens and if they can fix it I will let this small group know if they still want to know.

May 19 by Owyn Hicks. Hi Jim Thomson did you have to take the controller apart to get to the sensor to apply the rubbing alcohol?March So i do not know if anyone else is having this issue on PC, but my Xbox one elite controller will not use the right trigger to fire the gun.

Can anyone who is playing the PC versions with an Xbox one controller confirms this, it is driving me crazy. Go to Solution. March - last edited March I figured out my issue I hope this helps you. I signed out of Steam and now the two systems are not fighting for control.

XBOX ONE HOW TO FIX CONTROLLER BUMPERS - LT and RT without opening controller

For me I have had to rebind most of the keys in order to stop things like the camera moving when using only the left stick to walk. The left stick clicked in causes the system to open the communications keyboard and leave the game but with it and my character running off a cliff.

X button was doing that until it switched on it's own to next weapon and sometimes reload.

Windows 10 - Xbox One controller triggers do not work

The sensitivity of the buttons seems to be the issue as even durring character creation if I held LT or RT down all the way the avatar would stop rotating but held down half way worked fine. So I broke down and pulled my controller out and hooked it up it is far smoother and all the buttons work but the left stick click is still causing something to kick me to desktop then back into the game.

View in thread. Do you have the latest firmware installed on the controller? August I was having the same problem using a Razer Wildcat Xbox controller in Windows I was able to fix this by activating "hair trigger" mode on the right trigger or by de-activating the trigger stops. Alternatively, you can just de-activate the hardware trigger stops by switching the stops on the bottom side of the controller. This widget could not be displayed. Help us improve Answers HQ!

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the controller, switching the drivers that it uses, but nothing seems to be helping. I can probably get around this by using Xpadder or Joy2Key, but I would like to see if there is a solution to get this controller working the way it is supposed to.

I might also consider doing a clean OS install to see if that will fix it. Hit "Update Driver," then "Browse my computer for driver software," then "Let me pick from a list Restart, and it should work now. Last edited by Anduril; Jan 1, at PM.

xbox one controller right trigger not working

I can definitely confirm this. Trying to remap controls is a bit of a nightmare, because configuring any button will immediately trigger the RT binding I'm guessing this is on PSO2 itself, given that it probably needs to update its controller support for Windows 10, and any other game works perfectly with the controller.

Also curious, when attempting to calibrate the controller in the settings, the sensor already senses the Left Joystick pushing up, and I didn't touch anything I am a HUmar to know what you are take the quiz here. Thanks man, worked perfectly fine.

Now if only we could get this working for the wireless adapter, which is treated as a network device because of WiFi-Direct. Originally Posted by Edgewood.

Will leave some additional info after this fix. Anyways, PSO2 is the issue. Some other programs I use have the issue too. Current games like Fallout 4 work just fine with the current drivers.

So really, the controller and adapter is fine. However, it's completely broken on other older things. However, it's possible to simply get around it. It will get around the stuck button and do exactly what it would normally do. Be sure to run as Administrator if your inputs aren't read on the game. Other programs might work, although I've had issues with Xpadder.

Now nothing on pso2 will be using the stuck trigger! Now, go into keyboard settings and set both Evade and Select Multiple to one key.

xbox one controller right trigger not working

Most people say to install older Xbox One controller drivers, but every link has sent me on a link-to-link adventure I do not have time for. I spent 7 hours strait trying to get these triggers to work.

I saw someone say they needed to install Windows 7 Microsoft Accessories, so I did that and nothing changed. I downloaded the Xbox Accessories App from the store because it said I could configure my controller with it. It told me I was using Bluetooth and made me connect a usb, so I went and bought a usb, clicked Configure and the left and right triggers were not even listed, which obviously made mapping them impossible.

Also, when I connected a usb, it showed a second controller diagram and linked my profile to that one, leaving the original abandoned. This means I would need to use the usb at all times to play. This defeats the purpose of a wireless controller, and since the usb only has a 5-foot cord, that is already out of the question.

Original Post

The strangest part is, when I used Test on the Xbox Accessories app to test my buttons, both triggers were instantly recognized.

When I played a game, the triggers were mapped to the Back and Start buttons. So, the Back and Start buttons are triggers, and the actual triggers are left disabled and unmapped. How do I remap triggers to the trigger buttons and enable Back and Start?

Need to do both since moving the trigger functions from Back and Start to the triggers will either leave them without a function, or leave 2 sets of trigger buttons. How do I roll back to an older Xbox One controller driver version? According to many people the older drivers still work as intended but I can't find a direct link to any other version.
